Free two-page practice

The 15-Minute Control Audit

Use one real source of stress or anxiety. Write quickly and specifically. The aim is not to eliminate uncertainty; it is to recover your next deliberate choice.

  1. Name the stress or anxiety

Describe what is happening using observable facts before predictions, motives, or conclusions.

  2. Divide the field

Separate your choices, preparation, effort, words, boundaries, and next action from other people, past events, timing, uncertainty, and final outcomes.

  3. Choose one deliberate action

Choose a useful action you can take in the next fifteen minutes. Small and available beats impressive and imaginary.

  4. Use the Stoic Pause

Stop. Breathe. Name the event separately from your judgment. Choose the response that belongs to you.

  5. Close the loop tonight

Record where you responded deliberately, where impulse took over, and one response you will practice next time.
